United Nations Security Council Resolution 400 – Appointment of the new Secretary-General

Resolution 400 ( 1976) of 7 December 1976

The Security Council,

Having considered the question of the recommendation for the appointment of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Recommends to the General Assembly that Mr. Kurt Waldheim be appointed Secretary-General of the United Nations for a second term of office from I January 1977 to 31 December 1981.

Adopted unanimously at the 1978th meeting.
