Section 96 Sheriffs and Civil Process Act

Section 96 of the Sheriffs and Civil Process Act 1945 is about Writ of summons may be served in any part of Federation. It provides as follows:

(1) A writ of summons issued out of or requiring the defendant to appear at any court of a State or the Capital Territory may be served on the defendant in any other State or the Capital Territory.

(2) Such service may, subject to any rules of court which may be made under this
Act, be effected in the same manner as if the writ was served on the defendant in the State or the Capital Territory in which the writ was issued.
