Section 55 Land Registration Law (LRL) Lagos State 2015

Section 55 of the Land Registration Law (LRL) of Lagos State 2015 provides as follows:

(1) A discharge, wholly or in part, may be made by a deed of release in the prescribed form and the word “Discharged” may be written or printed on the document creating the mortgage, which after execution by the mortgagee, may be registered.

(2) The discharge shall be completed by the cancellation in the register of the mortgage or a part of the mortgage as the case may be, and by filing the document in the Land Registry.
