Section 55 CAMA 2020

Section 55 Companies and Allied Matters Act is about Alteration of status by re-registration. It is under Chapter 2 (Re-registration Of Companies) of PART B (Incorporation of Companies and Incidental Matters) of the Act.

Alteration of status by re-registration

A company may by re-registration under this Part alter its status from—
(a) a private company to a public company ;
(b) a public company to a private company ;
(c) a private limited company to an unlimited company ;
(d) an unlimited company to a limited company ; or
(e) a public limited company to an unlimited company.
