Section 54 Nigeria Police Act

Section 54 of the Nigeria Police Act 2020 is about Where reasonable suspicion never exist. It is under Part VII (Powers of Police Officers) of the Act. It provides as follows:

The following shall not be grounds for reasonable suspicions-
(a) personal attributes, including a person’s colour, age, hairstyle or manner of dress ;

(b) previous conviction for possession of an unlawful article ; or

(c) stereotyped images ofce11ain persons or groups as more likely to be committing offences.
