Section 500 Indian Penal Code

Section 500 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 is about Punishment for defamation. It is under CHAPTER XXI (OF DEFAMATION) of the Code.

Punishment for defamation

Whoever defames another shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
