Section 47 Land Registration Law (LRL) Lagos State 2015

Section 47 of the Land Registration Law (LRL) of Lagos State 2015 provides as follows:

(1) A sub-lease may be surrendered by a document of surrender in the prescribed form or by writing the word “Surrendered” with the date of surrender, on the original or duplicate or other copy acceptable to the Registrar, and by the execution of the under-lease by the sub-lessor and the sub-lessee.

(2) On presentation of such document duly executed and after payment of the prescribed fee, the registration of the sub-lease shall be cancelled.

(3) No sub-lease which is subject to a mortgage or under-lease shall be surrendered without the consent in writing of the mortgagee or under-lessee as the case may require.
