Section 44 Land Registration Law (LRL) Lagos State 2015

Section 44 of the Land Registration Law (LRL) of Lagos State 2015 provides as follows:

(1) A sub-lease for a term to commence on a future date shall not exceed twenty-one (21) years from the date of the sub-lease and no person shall be put on notice of such sub-lease until it is registered.

(2) Any document purporting to create a sub-lease to commence on a date more than twenty-one (21) years from and including the date of the document shall be void.
