Section 43 Property and Conveyancing Law of the Western Region of Nigeria 1959

Section 43 of the Property and Conveyancing Law of the Western Region of Nigeria 1959 is about Leasing powers for special objects. It provides as follows:

The leasing power of the trustees for sale extends to the making of
(i) a lease for giving effect (in such manner and so far as the law permits) to a
covenant of renewal, performance whereof could be enforced against the owner for the time being of the trust land; and

(ii) a lease for confirming, as far as may be, a previous lease being void or voidable, but so that every lease, as and when confirmed, shall be such a lease as might at the date of the original lease have been lawfully granted under this Law or otherwise, as the case may require.
