Section 417 Indian Penal Code

Section 417 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 is about Punishment for cheating. It is under ‘Of Cheating’ of CHAPTER XVII (OF OFFENCES AGAINST PROPERTY) of the Code.

 Punishment for cheating

Whoever cheats shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
