Section 387 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 387 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Sub-Committee. It provides as follows:

(1) There is set up a sub-committee of the Criminal Justice Reform Sector
Committee for the purpose of carrying out its functions under this Law.

(2) The sub-committee shall comprise of the following members-
(a) the State Director of Public Prosecutions;

(b) one (1) representative of the Nigerian Bar Association to be
appointed by the Chairman on the recommendation of the State
Branch Chairman to serve for two (2) years only;

(c) the Director, Office of Public Defender or a representative not
below the rank of Assistant Director GL 15;

(d) the Director/Head of Community Service Unit;

(e) one (1) representative of the Civil Society working on human rights
and access to justice or women rights to be appointed by the Chairman;

(f) Officer-in-Charge (Legal), State Police Criminal Investigation Department; and

(g) one (1) representative of the Correctional Service not below the rank of Assistant Comptroller.

(3) The most senior Judge in the State Criminal Court Division shall be
the Chairman of the sub-committee.

(4) A member of the sub-committee not being a public officer may resign
from the appointment by a letter to the Chairman, giving one (1) month notice.

(5) Members of the sub-committee shall be paid such allowances as the
Committee may approve.
