Section 384 Indian Penal Code

Section 384 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 is about Punishment for extortion. It is under ‘Of Extortion’ of CHAPTER XVII (OF OFFENCES AGAINST PROPERTY) of the Code.

Punishment for extortion

Whoever commits extortion shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
