Section 37 Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018

Section 37 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 is about Discontinuance of inquiry or investigation. It is under Part VI (Enforcement Warrants and Requests for Information) of the Act.

(1) Where the Commission, at any stage of an investigation or inquiry under this Act, is of the opinion that the matter being investigated or subject to inquiry does not justify further investigation or inquiry, the Commission may discontinue the investigation or inquiry.

(2) Where the Commission discontinues an investigation or inquiry, it shall, within 14 days thereafter, give written notice to the parties concerned in the investigation or inquiry, stating the reasons for discontinuing the investigation or inquiry.
