Section 327 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Where fines may be recoverable by distress. It provides as follows:

Where, under the authority of any written law, the Court imposes a fine or any pecuniary penalty whether or not that fine or penalty is accompanied by a power to impose imprisonment and no special provision other than recovery by distress is made for the recovery of such fine or penalty, the Court may order such fine or penalty to be recoverable by distress and in default of such distress satisfying the amount of the fine or penalty as mentioned above, shall order that the offender be imprisoned, with or without labour as the case may be, in accordance with the scale set forth in section 319.
