Section 318 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 318 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Fines, imprisonment in default of payment. It provides as follows:

A person convicted of an offence punishable by—

(a) imprisonment as well as fine, and sentenced to pay a fine, whether with or without imprisonment; or

(b) imprisonment or fine, and sentenced to pay a fine, may be ordered to suffer imprisonment, in default of payment of the fine, for a certain term, such imprisonment shall be in addition to any other imprisonment to which he may have been sentenced.
