Section 31 Patents and Designs Act 1971

Section 31 of the Patents and Designs Act 1971 is about Repeals, and transitional and saving provisions. It is under ‘General’ of the Act. It provides as follows:

(1) The Registration of United Kingdom Patents Act, the United Kingdom Designs
(Protection) Act, the Patent Rights (Limitation) Act 1968 and (in so far as they are in force in Nigeria) the Patents Act 1949 of the United Kingdom and amendments thereof are hereby repealed.

(2) The transitional and saving provisions in the Second Schedule shall have effect notwithstanding subsection (1) of this section or any other provision of this Act.
