Section 292 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 292 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Destruction of seditious and prohibited publications. It provides as follows:

(1) On a conviction under the Criminal Law applicable in the State for offences relating to seditious publication, the Court may order the confiscation and destruction of all the copies of the thing in respect of which publications the conviction was had and which are in the custody of the Court and also all those which remain in the possession or power of the person convicted.

(2) The Court shall in like manner on a conviction for an offence under the Criminal Law applicable in the State for exposing for sale things unfit for food or drink, order the food or drink in respect of which the conviction was had and also all other unfit or adulterated food or drink which remain in the possession or power of the person convicted to be destroyed.
