Section 287 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 287 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Enforcement of award of compensation. It provides as follows:

Any sum awarded as compensation shall be specified in the order of discharge or acquittal, as the case may be, and the Court shall order that on default of payment within such time as the Court deems proper of any sum awarded for compensation, the person making default be imprisoned, with or without labour, for any term not exceeding the term prescribed in respect of a like sum in the scale of imprisonment set out in section 319.
