Section 279 CAMA 2020

Section 279 Companies and Allied Matters Act is about Provisions as to insolvent persons acting as directors. It is under Chapter 11 (Directors) of the Act.

(1) If any person, being an insolvent person, acts as director of or directly or indirectly takes part in, or is concerned in the management of any company, he commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine as the Court deems fit, or imprisonment for a term of at least six months but not more than two years, or both.

(2) In this section, “company” includes an unregistered company.
