Section 276 Investments and Securities Act

Section 276 of the Investments and Securities Act 2025 is about Dematerialised debt security. It is under Part XVI (Issuance of Securities) of the Act. It provides as follows:

(1) Securities shall be allotted in dematerialised form and shall be electronically registered, if applicable, on the account of the holder of the securities with any recognised depository, clearing or settlement platform.

(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1), every holder of securities issued shall be entitled to receive from the securities transfer agent an electronic proof of ownership covering the amount of his holding.
