Section 25 Money Laundering Act

Section 25 of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 is about Obstruction of authorised officers. It provides as follows:

A person who willfully obstructs officers of a competent authority in the exercise of the powers conferred on the competent authority by this Act commits an offence and is liable on conviction—

(a) in the case of an individual, to imprisonment for a term of at least two years and not more than three years ; and

(b) in the case of a financial institution or other body corporate, to a fine of N1,000,000.
