Section 244 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 244 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about When statement may be used in evidence. It provides as follows:

(1) Evidence of seriously ill persons taken in accordance with section 246 may be used in evidence at the trial of any defendant of an offence to which the same relates in accordance with the provisions of section 35 of the Evidence Act.

(2) The signature and attestation of the Judge or Magistrate shall be sufficient prima facie proof of any statement, and that the same was taken in all respects according to Law and such attestation and signature shall be admitted without further proof unless the Court shall see reason to doubt the genuineness.
