Section 213 Child’s Right Act

Section 213 Child’s Right Act 2003 is about Jurisdiction of Court to try child offenders. It is under Part XX (Child Justice Administration – Adjudication) of the Act.

(1) A child who is accused of having committed an act such as is contemplated in Section 209 of this Act shall be tried in the Court.

(2) The terms “conviction” and “sentence” shall not be used in relation to a child dealt with in the Court and any reference in any enactment or other law to a person convicted, a conviction or a sentence shall, in the case of child be construed as including a reference to a person found guilty of an offence, or to a finding of guilt or to an order made upon such a finding, as the case may be.
