Section 160 Property and Conveyancing Law of the Western Region of Nigeria 1959
Section 160 of the Property and Conveyancing Law of the Western Region of Nigeria 1959 is about Lessee to give notice of ejectment to lessor. It provides as follows:
Every lessee to whom there is delivered any writ for the recovery of premises
demised to or held by him, or to whose knowledge any such writ comes, shall
forthwith give notice thereof to his lessor or his bailiff or receiver, and, if he fails so to do, he shall be liable to forfeit to the person of whom he holds the premises an amount equal to the value of three years’ improved or rack rent of the premises, to be recovered by action in any court having jurisdiction in respect of claims for such an amount.
