Section 12 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 12 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Arrest by private persons. It provides as follows:

(1) A private person may arrest any person who commits an offence triable on information in his presence or whom he reasonably suspects of having committed an offence triable on information.

(2) After the arrest of the person under subsection (1) of this section, a private person shall not subject the arrested person to torture, inhuman or degrading treatment.
