Section 1 Electoral Act

Section 1 Electoral Act 2022 is about Establishment of Independent National Electoral Commission. It is under Part I (Establishment and Functions of Independent National Electoral Commission) of the Act.

(1) The Independent National Electoral Commission as established by section 153 of the Constitution (in this Act referred to as “the Commission”) —
(a) is a body corporate with perpetual succession ; and
(b) may sue and be sued in its corporate name.

(2) The National Headquarters of the Commission shall be situated in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
