1 U.S. Code § 3 is about “Vessel” as including all means of water transportation. It is under Chapter 1 (Rules of Construction) of Title 1 (General Provisions) of the Code.

The word “vessel” includes every description of watercraft or other artificial contrivance used, or capable of being used, as a means of transportation on water.
