1 U.S. Code § 2 is about “County” as including “parish”, and so forth. It is under Chapter 1 (Rules of Construction) of Title 1 (General Provisions) of the Code.

The word “county” includes a parish, or any other equivalent subdivision of a State or Territory of the United States.
