Section 179 Indian Contract Act 1872
Section 179 of the Indian Contract Act 1872 is about Pledge where pawnor has only a limited interest. It is under “Bailments of pledges” of CHAPTER IX of the Act. CHAPTER IX is titled OF BAILMENT.
Pledge where pawnor has only a limited interest
Where a person pledges goods in which he has only a limited interest, the pledge is valid to the extent of that interest.
