Section 80A Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984

Section 80A of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 is about Rule where accused’s spouse or civil partner not compellable. It provides as follows:

The failure of the spouse or civil partner of a person charged in any proceedings to give evidence in the proceedings shall not be made the subject of any comment by the prosecution.
