Section 383 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 383 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Secretary to the Committee. It provides as follows:

(1) There shall be a Secretary for the Committee, who shall be appointed by the
Chairman on the recommendation of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for
Justice.

(2) The Secretary shall be a Legal Practitioner of not less than ten (10)
years post call experience and shall possess sound knowledge and cognate
experience in the administration of criminal justice system.

(3) The Secretary shall be the Accounting Officer and be responsible for the
execution of the policy of the Committee and ensure decisions reached at Committee meetings are implemented.

(4) The Secretary shall hold office for a term of four (4) years and may subject
to satisfactory performance of functions, be re-appointed for a further term of
four (4) years only.

(5) The Secretary shall hold office on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
