Section 280 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Security for appearing for judgment. It provides as follows:

When a person is convicted of any offence, the Court may, instead of passing sentence, discharge the offender upon his entering into his own recognisance, with or without sureties, in such sum as the Court may deem fit on the condition that he shall appear and receive judgment at some future sitting of the Court or when called upon.
