Section 286 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Compensation in case of false and vexatious charge. It provides as follows:

If in any case before a Court any person is charged with any offence and the Court trying the case discharges or acquits any of the defendants and the presiding Judge or Magistrate is of the opinion that the accusation against any of them was false, frivolous or vexatious, the Judge or Magistrate may for reasons to be recorded, direct that compensation be paid as the Court shall deem fit to the defendant or any of them by the person upon whose complaint the accused was charged.
