Section 278 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 278 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Sentence. It provides as follows:

(1) If the Court finds the defendant guilty of the offence, the Court shall either pass sentence on the defendant or make an order or reserve judgment and adjourn the case to some future date.

(2) The Court shall record in writing the reasons for the sentence and in particular the reasons for applying or not applying non-custodial disposition measures provided by Law.
