Section 266 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 266 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Magistrate may adjourn where defendant cannot appear. It provides as follows:

If a Court is satisfied that a defendant who has been remanded is, by reason of illness or accident, unable to appear personally before the Court at such adjournment as is mentioned in section 264, the Court may, in the absence of
the defendant, order him to be further remanded for such time as shall be deemed reasonable and cause him to be so informed in writing.
