Section 211 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Pleading to information or charge. It provides as follows:
(1) The person to be tried upon any charge or information shall be placed before the Court unfettered unless the Court shall direct otherwise and the charge or information shall be read over and explained to him in the language he understands to the satisfaction of the Court by the Registrar or other officer
of the Court in the presence of a legal practitioner representing the defendant.
(2) The defendant shall be called upon to plead instantly to the charge except where the defendant is entitled to service of a copy of the information, he objects on the grounds of non-service and if the Court finds he has not been duly served.
