Section 181 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 181 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Penalty on witness refusing to attend. It provides as follows:

Any witness who—
(a) refuses or neglects, without reasonable cause, to attend at a Court in compliance with the requirements of a summons duly served in the manner prescribed by Law; or

(b) departs from the precincts of the court without the leave of the Judge or Magistrate, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a penalty not exceeding Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) or to a custodial sentence not exceeding two (2) months.”
