Section 82 Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Lagos

Section 82 Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, as amended in 2021, is about Issue of summons and contents thereof. It provides as follows:

Where a charge is preferred before a Magistrate as provided in section 78 and the Magistrate decides to issue a summons in the first instance, such Magistrate shall issue a summons directed to the person or persons charged with the offence stating concisely the substance of the charge and requiring him to appear at a certain time not less than forty-eight (48) hours after the service of such summons before the Court to answer to the said charge and to be further dealt with according to law.
