Section 27 Sheriffs and Civil Process Act

Section 27 of the Sheriffs and Civil Process Act 1945 is about Disposal of bills of exchange, etc., seized. It provides as follows:

The sheriff shall hold any bills of exchange, promissory notes, bonds, special ties or
other securities for money seized in execution under process of a court as security for the amount directed to be levied by the execution, or for so much thereof as has not been otherwise levied or raised for the benefit of the judgment creditor, and the judgment creditor may sue in the name of the judgment debtor, or in the name of any person in whose name the judgment debtor might have sued, for the recovery of the sum secured or made payable thereby, when the time of payment thereof arrives.
