Section 29 Rent Control and Recovery of Residential Premises Law

Section 29 of the Rent Control and Recovery of Residential Premises Law of Lagos State 1997 is about Rent Payment receipt. It provides as follows:

(1) As from the commencement of this Law all landlords of premises in the areas to
which this Law applies shall issue rent payments receipt to their tenants.

(2) Any landlord who fails to issue rent payment receipt to his tenant shall be guilty
of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of two thousand five hundred naira or one
month imprisonment.
