Section 62 Land Registration Law (LRL) Lagos State 2015

Section 62 of the Land Registration Law (LRL) of Lagos State 2015 provides as follows:

(1) A holder may transfer his land, sub-lease or mortgage by a deed and the transfer shall be completed by registration of the transferee as holder of the land, sub-lease or mortgage, by filing the document of transfer in the Land Registry.

(2) The transferee of a mortgage may require the person who executed the mortgage, or any person claiming through him, to execute the transfer for the purpose of acknowledging the amount due under the mortgage at the date of execution of the transfer.
