Section 130 Investments and Securities Act

Section 130 of the Investments and Securities Act 2025 is about Securities lending and margin requirements. It is under Part X (Conduct of Securities Business) of the Act. It provides as follows:

The Commission may make regulations to —
(a) prevent the excessive use of credit in purchasing or transacting in securities by dealers or member companies;

(b) provide for margin requirements, for the amount of credit which may be extended and maintained by securities dealers; and

(c) provide for securities lending transactions by securities dealers and for matters connected with it.
