Rule 4 Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners
Rule 4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners (RPC) 2023 is about Avoidance of intermediary in the practice of the law. It is under Part 1 (Practice as a Legal Practitioner) of Chapter 1 (Conduct) of the Rules. It provides as follows:
A lawyer shall not permit his professional services to be controlled or exploited by any lay agency, personal or corporate, which intervenes between him and the client, provided that charitable societies or other institutions rendering aid to the indigent are not deemed to be intermediaries.
