Section 342 Indian Penal Code (IPC)

Section 342 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 is about Punishment for wrongful confinement. It is under CHAPTER XVI (OF OFFENCESAFFECTINGTHE HUMAN BODY) of the Code.

Punishment for wrongful confinement

Whoever wrongfully confines any person shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
